The 2014 racing season is fast approaching for Joey Ladouceur and his Alexandria, Ontario based Sportsman team. After an incredible rookie season in 2013 after moving up from the Pro Stock division where he set numerous records and won over 100 feature events, Joey is ready for his second season in the Sportsman class.

Ladouceur will make his 2014 season debut this coming Saturday night at Fulton Speedway in their Industrial Tire Sportsman Series. The following weekend, Joey will compete at Mohawk International Raceway in the Atomic Spring Clash event on Sunday, May 4th.

The new season will also see Ladouceur compete in the Pro Cam Truck Series based in Quebec. Ladouceur had planned to race in the series last year, but plans fell through, but this year, Joey is ready to make his series debut. They will test the truck at Autodrome Chaudiere on May 3rd and will be ready for the Series opener at Riverside Speedway on May 31st.

“We have an exciting schedule ahead of this season, and I am looking forward to getting started”, says Ladouceur. “We had a great rookie season in Sportsman last year, and hopefully we can be even better this season”.

Ladouceur will race weekly at Cornwall Speedway in 2014, and will also follow the DIRTcar Sportsman Series and Seaway Sportsman Series in addition to the Pro Cam Truck schedule. The first race at Cornwall is scheduled for Sunday, May 18th, with the first Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman series event set for Sunday, June 1st at Cornwall.

Billy Dunn Opens 2014 Season with Second Place Finish in Jan Corcoran Memorial at Canandaigua Motorsports Park

After plenty of anticipation, the 2014 racing season finally got underway this past weekend at Canandaigua Motorsports Park. After narrowly missing the 2013 championship, Dunn was focused and ready to get 2014 started and get another shot at the track title. It was Jan Corcoran Memorial weekend at the track, with Saturday night being the 64 lap main event for the Big Block Modifieds.

Dunn started his qualifying heat race from the sixth position and quickly moved forward. By the end of the race he was up to second, earning a spot in the redraw for a top 10 starting spot for the 64 lap main event. Dunn pulled position number seven, and lined up on the inside of row four. It didn’t take Dunn long to move forward, moving into the top five by lap seven. By lap 40, Dunn was in third place, and continued to gain ground on the race leaders. Just two laps later, he picked up one more spot to move to second, and tried everything he could to pick up the last remaining position. Dunn crossed the line with a solid 2nd place result.

“It was a good start to the season for us”, says Dunn. “Hopefully this will be the start to another great year”.

This coming weekend, Billy Dunn will race at Fulton Speedway on Saturday night as they battle in the first round of the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series. He will return to Canandaigua Motorsports Park on Saturday, May 3rd.
