Ryan Arbuthnot Gets Second Place Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night; Steve Arbuthnot Wins at the BOS in Vintage Modified

This past weekend provided a bit of a twist from the regular weekly routine as both Ryan and Steve Arbuthnot completed a busy weekend schedule. First up was Brewerton Speedway just north of Syracuse, New York as Ryan and Steve made the 4.5 hour trip from their Renfrew, Ontario home. Ryan was looking to get some seat time in his new Big Block ride, while Steve was competing with the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club for the first time this season. Ryan was also back in action at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night with his regular 358 Modified program.

Brewerton Speedway is a Big Block Modified track with some of the best drivers in the Northeast competing weekly. Ryan was well aware that he would be starting at the rear of the field against some extremely tough competitors and the overall finish was really irrelevant as it was more about the experience and getting some more time behind the wheel of his own Big Block. In his eight-lap qualifier, Ryan started from the tail of the field and worked his way up to fifth place. The 35 lap main event was up next, and Ryan posted a 17th place result.

“It was a great experience for us”, says Arbuthnot. “The car ran really good, and we battled side by side with some of the best in the business. This was only our second time out in the Big Block, so we are happy with that”.

Steve Arbuthnot also had a great showing, besting the short field of Vintage Modifieds to take home the feature win.

On Saturday night, Ryan Arbuthnot was back to Brockville Speedway with his 358 Modified. He started the night out with a third place finish in his qualifying heat race and returned to the track for the 30 lap main event starting from the fifth position. The first caution came on lap three and Arbuthnot was already up to the second spot, and he took over the race lead before 10 laps had been completed. After holding the top spot for a handful of laps, Arbuthnot fell to second, and maintained that position through the end of the race.
